Benjamin Ford is a second year PhD student of Computer Science at USC’s Viterbi School of Engineering, also in the Teamcore research group, which is funded by CREATE.
He completed his B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 2008 and 2010, respectively. After graduation and prior to joining Teamcore, he worked at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI as a Software Engineer.
Ford's interests are in improving the algorithms and solutions of Computer Science by applying concepts from the social sciences of Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, and Anthropology. Specifically, he is interested in applying human behavioral models to multi-agent systems with a large focus on human decision-making. Ford’s current work on Wildlife and Endangered Species Conservation is a natural application domain for these research interests.
