Transition Pipeline

Our transition pipeline has three stages, initialization, immersion and fielding.

Phase 1, Initialization, establishes the concept and plan for transition at project outset.

Phase 2 immerses project personnel, including graduate research assistants, in the field operational setting intended for application of R&D results. Immersion familiarizes researchers and end-users for mutual understanding and trust as R&D progresses from initial designs to prototype, pilots and field tests.

Phase 3, Fielding, fine-tunes R&D for operational needs.

CREATE has transitioned its research through the transition pipeline. Examples are listed here.
