CREATE Post-Docs and Research Assistants Continue Their Professional Development

CREATE is pleased to announce recent honors, promotions, and job placements of previous and current post-docs and research assistants during the past year:

Former CREATE Research Assistant and Price School of Public Policy Ph.D. Noah Dormady, mentored by CREATE Research Fellow Adam Rose, has been promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University. He is continuing his work on economic resilience in conjunction with Adam through a recent grant from NSF and contract with the Critical Infrastructure Resilience Institute.

Former CREATE Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Misak Avetisyan, mentored by Adam Rose, has been promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in the Department of Economics at Texas Tech University. He is continuing his research on applications of computable general equilibrium analysis.

Former CREATE Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Samrat Chatterjee, Team Lead, Decision Modeling and Optimization at PNNL, mentored by former CREATE Director Stephen Hora and former CREATE Research Assistant Professor Heather Rosoff, has been named a Faculty Affiliate of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Northeastern University. He was also a finalist for the Wayne P. Hughes Junior Analyst Award, Military Operations Research Society. He is continuing his work on decision-analysis of terrorism and is the co-editor of the forthcoming volume, Applied Risk Analysis for Guiding Homeland Security Policy and Decisions (Springer).

Former CREATE Research Assistant Professor Heather Rosoff, mentored by CREATE Director Detlof von Winterfeldt, was promoted to the position of Director, Data and Policy Analysis at the USC, Provost Office, Department of Academic Affairs.

Former CREATE Research Post-Doc Fynnwin Prager, mentored by Adam Rose and Detlof von Winterfeldt, and now Assistant Professor of Public Administration and Co-Director of the South Bay Economics Institute at Cal State University Dominquez Hills, is the co-author of the textbook Terrorism: An International Perspective (Sage, 2018).

Former CREATE Research Post-Doc Zhenhua Chen, mentored by Adam Rose and CREATE Research Fellow Dan Wei, and now Assistant Professor of City and Regional Planning at The Ohio State University, is the lead-author of the book High-Speed Rail and China’s New Economic Geography: Impact Assessment from the Regional Science Perspective (Elgar).

Former CREATE Postdoctoral Fellow Sule Guney, mentored by Detlof von Winterfeldt, was appointed to the position of Lecturer at the University of Southern California, Department of Psychology.

Former CREATE Research Assistant Jinshu (Tracy) Cui received her Ph.D. degree in Quantitative Psychology under the mentorship of CREATE Associate Director Richard John and accepted the position of Data Scientist at psyML, Los Angeles.

Former CREATE Research Assistant Kenneth Nguyen received his Ph.D. degree in Quantitative Psychology under the mentorship of Richard John and accepted the position of Statistician I at the University of Southern California, Office of the Vice President, Admission & Planning, Division of Enrollment Services.

Former CREATE Research Assistant Zhiqin (Gin) Chen received her Ph.D. degree in Quantitative Psychology under the mentorship of Richard John and began a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Department of Psychology, Peking University, Beijing, PRC.

Former CREATE Research Assistant Mathew Baucum received his M.A. degree in Quantitative Psychology under the mentorship of Richard John and accepted the position of User Experience Researcher with AT&T, El Segundo, California.

Former CREATE Research Assistant Lee White, currently a Post-Doctoral Researcher in the School of Environment and Natural Resources at the Ohio State University, a Ph.D. graduate of the Price School and a former member of the Adam Rose research team, recently accepted the position of a Grand Challenge Research Fellow at Australian National University.

Former CREATE Research Assistant Chris Covino, mentored by Adam Rose, CREATE Research Fellow Dan Wei, and CREATE Research Fellow Jonathan Eyer, recently received a fellowship to work with the San Diego Department of Emergency Management.

Current CREATE Research Assistant Ashley Endo received her Ph.D. degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering under the mentorship of CREATE Director Detlof von Winterfeldt.

Current CREATE Research Assistant Peter Eyre, mentored by Adam Rose, Dan Wei, and Jonathan Eyer, will soon be taking a position in the Los Angeles Department of Transportation.
