Director of Security, Port of Long Beach
Randy spent 20 years with the FBI retiring as the Special Agent in Charge of the Los Angeles office’s Counterterrorism Program. Prior to the FBI, he was a local police officer, university professor and practicing attorney. After retiring from the FBI, Randy was the Federal Security Director for Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and LAX. He is currently the Director of Security for the Port of Long Beach, CA directing the activities of 140 personnel and over $130 million in technical security systems.
Randy has authored several articles on transportation security, and he is a member of the adjunct faculty at USC’s Graduate School of Public Policy. He is on the Executive Boards of the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, the Area Maritime Security Committee, and the California Homeland Security Advisory Committee. He has testified before Congress on various maritime security matters, most recently providing testimony on cybersecurity efforts in the maritime environment.
