STAMINA IV

Science and Technology Analysis and Management of Innovation Activity (STAMINA) addresses key aspects of research and development for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Through this project, CREATE is enhancing the DHS Transition Branch’s capabilities, such as defining transition process research needs, creating quantitative and impactful descriptions of the R&D benefits, and creating a procedural framework for the evaluation of uptake for transitioned projects to component operations and/or to non-DHS stakeholders. Research, studies, analysis, and tools developed will support DHS’s wide range of R&D transitioned by S&T in support of the Homeland Security Mission.

The project is led by CREATE Senior Research Fellow Detlof von Winterfeldt (principal investigator) along with CREATE Senior Scientist Isaac Maya. Senior Fellow Richard John will contribute to the project as co-Principal Investigator. CREATE Director Randolph Hall will also contribute research to the project. Jeff Countryman will provide staff support for the work.

A total of $2.2 million has been awarded to the project, over two phases, covering the period from September 2023 to September 2025.

More information on CREATE’s research transition program can be found on our Transition Projects webpage. CREATE Director, Randolph Hall, recently published the book: Managing Innovation Inside Universities.
