Detlof von Winterfeldt Appointed New Interim Director of CREATE

Detlof von Winterfeldt, co-founder (with Randolph Hall) and past director of CREATE (from 2004 to 2008 and from 2015 to 2019) has been appointed interim director starting July 1, 2025. He follows Randolph Hall’s tenure as CREATE director, who is taking a long-deserved sabbatical. von Winterfeldt’s research interests are in the foundation and practice of decision and risk analysis applied to the areas of technology development, environmental risks, natural hazards and terrorism.
