CREATE faculty mentor USC students at all levels, providing opportunities to learn about homeland security through participation in research projects.

  • Research Assistant at the Price School of Public Policy, Dr. Noah Dormady, mentored by CREATE Research Fellow Adam Rose, is a professor in the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University.
  • Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Misak Avetisyan, mentored by Adam Rose, is a professor in the Department of Economics at Texas Tech University.
  • Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Samrat Chatterjee, Team Lead, Decision Modeling and Optimization at PNNL, mentored by former CREATE Director Stephen Hora and former CREATE Research Assistant Professor Heather Rosoff, is a data scientist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
  • Research Assistant Professor Dr. Heather Rosoff, mentored by CREATE Director Emeritus Detlof von Winterfeldt, is Director, Data and Policy Analysis at the USC, Provost Office, Department of Academic Affairs.
  • Research Post-Doc Dr. Fynnwin Prager, mentored by Adam Rose and Detlof von Winterfeldt, is a professor of Public Administration and Co-Director of the South Bay Economics Institute at Cal State University Dominquez Hills, and co-author of the textbook Terrorism: An International Perspective .
  • Research Post-Doc Dr. Zhenhua Chen, mentored by Adam Rose and CREATE Research Fellow Dan Wei, is a professor of City and Regional Planning at The Ohio State University, and lead-author of the book High-Speed Rail and China’s New Economic Geography: Impact Assessment from the Regional Science Perspective.
  • Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Sule Guney, mentored by Detlof von Winterfeldt, is a professors in the University of California Irvine School of Econology.
  • Research Assistant Dr. Jinshu (Tracy) Cui received her Ph.D. degree in Quantitative Psychology under the mentorship of Richard John and works as a Data Scientist at Cigna-Digital.
  • Research Assistant Dr. Kenneth Nguyen received his Ph.D. degree in Quantitative Psychology under the mentorship of Richard John and works as a quantitative UX researcher at Upwork.
  • Research Assistant Dr. Zhiqin (Gin) Chen, mentored by Richard John, is a senior data-scientist at Cigna-Digital.
  • Research Assistant Dr. Matthew Baucum received his M.A. degree in Quantitative Psychology under the mentorship of Richard John and is now visiting instructor at Tennessee Tech University.
  • Research Assistant Lee White, a former member of the Adam Rose research team, is a Research Fellow at the Australian National University.
  • Research Assistant Chris Covino, mentored by Adam Rose, CREATE Research Fellow Dan Wei, and CREATE Research Fellow Jonathan Eyer, is a cybersecurity policy advisor at the Rosslyn Group.
  • Research Assistant Shannon Prier, mentored by Adam Rose, Dan Wei, and Jonathan Eyer, is a research analyst at the RAND Corporation.
  • Research Assistant Dr. Ashley Endo received her Ph.D. degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering under the mentorship of CREATE Director Emeritus Detlof von Winterfeldt is a water resources engineering professional at Jacobs.
  • Research Assistant Peter Eyre, mentored by Adam Rose, Dan Wei, and Jonathan Eyer, is an engineering associate in the Los Angeles Department of Transportation.
  • Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Terrence O’Sullivan, mentored by Randolph Hall, is a professor at the University of New Hampshire.
